Comedy Feedback is proud to present Showcase Showdown, a 7-week standup comedy contest at Comedy After Dark in Vancouver, BC.

Format:

Participating comedians will perform their best, most well rehearsed showcase set – as if they were auditioning for a paid gig, festival or TV spot. There will be judges providing live feedback immediately at the conclusion of each set. The top comedians will advance to the next round based upon the voting of the judges and audience. The first place finisher in each preliminary round event (June 13-July 25) will win an hour long standup comedy consulting session with Comedy Feedback (a $140 CAN value). The winner of the Finals will get given a complementary spot in a 6-week online Showcase Prep Class (a $550 CAN value).

The goal of the contest is to help comedians refine their showcase sets in order to be best prepared to excel in auditions, contests and festivals.

June 13: Up to twelve comedians with 2 years of experience or less compete with 4 minute sets and the Top 5 move on to the Semi-Finals

July 11: Up to nine comedians with between 3 and 4 years of experience compete with 5 minute sets and the Top 3 move on to the Semi-Finals

In order to particpate, comedians must complete a submission survey. Please note that comedians must identify their level of experience in order to be added to the proper preliminary round show. Comedians are only eligible to participate in ONE (1) preliminary round show, and if there is any dispute regarding category eligibility, the final determination will be made by the producers (i.e. Comedy Feedback). SUBMISSIONS FOR THE SUMMER 2023 SERIES ARE CLOSED.
